Part 3 Gold Course

OSCE Gold Course

London, 30-31 March 2019 (£495)

OSCE Gold Course

London, 5–6 October 2019 (£495)

The key to any exam, aside form preparation, is to understand what you are facing and how you are being assessed. Our ‘OSCE Gold’ Course does exactly that and shows you how the Part 3 is structured and how you are being marked.

The Part 3 is all about ‘domains’. You simply cannot pass the exam unless you understand what these are and what you need to do convince the examiners, both clinical and lay, that you meet the standards expected. We all believe we are good communicators but what are the RCOG looking for and how does this differ when speaking to patients, colleagues or the examiner? How do you demonstrate you are ‘safe’ and what is meant by ‘information gathering’ and ‘applied clinical knowledge’? We’ll explain all of this and more.

Discover the secrets of role-play and how to handle the difficult patient, break bad news, and, take a history, which is without doubt one of the most important things as most candidates get it wrong! Learn how handle the examiner in their active stations, deal with emergencies and surgical complications, and interpret results. And let’s not forget the importance of being a good teacher.

We’ll show you the importance of a good start and a good finish. You will learn how vital your 2-minute preparation time is and why you must ‘conclude’ each station. You’ll meet real actresses and lay examiners who will provide you with immediate personal feedback helping you learn and improve quickly. We also focus on past RCOG questions rather than what we think may come up to ensure you have a real feel for the exam. It’s one of our skills and why so many people recommend our Courses.

So, what are you waiting for? Don’t miss this perfect opportunity to gain insight into the Exam and make sure there are no surprises on the big day!

Come and see how the professionals approach the Part 3!

‘OSCE Gold’? Circuits? What is the difference? - read more

A common question!

Idiots guide? OSCE Gold = theory and Circuits = practice.

It’s not that simple though.

OSCE Gold goes through the exam and uses past RCOG questions to ensure you know the types of questions you can expect and how to answer them. We’ve critically analysed the Part 3 and worked out what we believe are the key things you need to do to score well. It’s arguably the most important course as it covers all aspects of the exam. Many people think they already have a good grasp of the Part 3 and the different ‘domains’ but we’re yet to meet anyone who truly knows. You’ve worked hard to get to this point so do not leave anything to chance at this stage.

Our Part 3 Circuits Course gives you the chance to use the information taught on the OSCE Gold Course and test your knowledge in a series of real exam scenarios with clinical and lay examiners. It’s basically a mock exam but with group and personal feedback. You’ll get a real feel for the exam and understand the pressures of time, upset patients and angry examiners.

Some delegates just do one Course but they are designed to work together. Ask anyone who has done the Courses and they will tell you they work best together.

There’s also only so much we can teach you in two days but by combining the courses we’re confident we can pretty much cover the syllabus and give you all the ammunition you need and the confidence to pass the Part 3.
